Meet your volunteer coaches!

Sean Sargent, President and co-founder, 8/9 yr old Girls Head Coach
Sean has had a stick in his hand since he was 14. He played his college lacrosse as a 2-year starter at defense for nationally ranked Villanova University, and played post-college for many top tier competitive clubs including 1 year of professional lacrosse for the Boston Blazers of the MILL. Sean was assistant coach for his high school alma mater, Fairfield Prep, and helped bring them to the CT state playoffs. Sean is a 10 year Hoboken resident, and is raising his two children here.

TJ DeSantis, VP and 3rd/4th Grade Boys Head Coach
TJ is a graduate of the University at Buffalo. At Buffalo, he was a 5 year starter on defense and President of the club lacrosse team. He played high school lacrosse in South Huntington, NY. This is TJ's fourth year with the Hoboken Lacrosse Club and second year coaching the 3rd/4th grade boys team.

Nick Pizzo, 3rd/4th Grade Boys Assistant Coach
Nick started playing Lacrosse in 2001 with the N. Brunswick youth lacrosse programs and the S. Brunswick middle school lacrosse team. In High School, Pizzo’s family had moved to Atlanta where he played Varsity Boys Lacrosse all four years, earning All-State Honorable Mention long-stick mid-fielder in 2008. In College, Pizzo first played club lacrosse at Georgia State University. He was then recruited to play NCAA DIII lacrosse at Oglethorpe University where he earned All-Conference long-stick mid-fielder in 2013. Following college graduation, Pizzo moved to Shanghai, China, where he played for Shanghai’s Men’s team; touring throughout SE Asia while competing in multiple tournaments. In 2014 and 2015, Pizzo coached Team China Men’s Lacrosse team in the nation's debut year to the World Lacrosse Championships. Pizzo’s coaching philosophy is not just about lacrosse, it’s about life: Grind it out & take it to the house."

Jimmy Vaughan, 5th/6th Grade Boys Head Coach
Jimmy grew up in Ridgewood, NJ. He now lives in Hoboken. Jimmy learned the sport of lacrosse from his dad who played in college. Jimmy has been playing lacrosse for over 20 years and has been coaching for 15 years. He played club lacrosse at the University of Scranton.

Guy Columbro, 7th/8th Grade Boys Head Coach
Guy grew up outside of Philadelphia and played 4 years of Varsity Lacrosse at Roman Catholic High School earning All Catholic Honors Junior and Senior year at the Attack position. Guy then continued his lacrosse career at Cabrini College as a Midfielder/Attack, a division III program based in Radnor, PA. After college, Guy coached at Upper Dublin High School in PA for 2 years, working with the LB3 All-Star Travel Program in the summer months. This is Guy's 3rd season with the Hoboken Lacrosse Club working closely with the 7th/8th grade Midfield and Attack.  

Mark DeCirce, 7th/8th Grade Boys Assistant Coach
Mark is a graduate of Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, where he was a 2-year team captain and leading scorer for the Golden Flyers, selected as All-American and Conference Player of the Year his senior year. Originally from Binghamton, NY, Mark grew up with a lacrosse stick in hand and continues to be a part of the game wherever possible. Mark currently resides in Hoboken and works for a cybersecurity company in NYC.

Colin Siracuse, 7th/8th Grade Boys Assistant Coach

Colin grew up playing lacrosse in Short Hills, NJ. He attended St. Peter’s prep in Jersey City for high school, where he was a 4 year member of the varsity team as a close defenseman. Following high school Colin went on to play under coach Bill Tierney at the University of Denver and was a member of the 2015 Division 1 national championship team. Colin has been coaching lacrosse for the past 7 years at various ages and skill levels.

Michael Tarinelli, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Head Coach
Michael grew up in Chatham, NJ and has lived in Hoboken since 1995. He is a graduate of Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, NJ and Providence College. He has two children 7 and 9 attending Hoboken Public Schools and has many years of youth coaching experience dating back to the 90’s. Michael specializes in helping new and young lax players learning the basics of handling the stick and having fun playing the game.

Hualing Yu, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Assistant Coach

Hualing is a lacrosse enthusiast Made In China. Hualing started playing lacrosse in Shanghai in 2011. As a member of Chinese national team, Hualing has competed in multiple international tournaments including Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in 2017. Hualing started her coaching journey in 2018 with the Warriors right after she moved to Jersey City. Besides lacrosse coach, she is also a data scientist working for a data consulting company in NYC.

Meghan Kerr, 5th/6th Grade Girls Head Coach

Meghan grew up in Warwick, NY, where she played lacrosse for the Warwick Youth Teams before playing at Burke Catholic High School for 4 years.She then played attack for The University of Scranton where she was the top leading goal-scorer for all four years and a team captain her junior and senior year. In 2017, she was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year. Meghan also played in the World Cup Festival in England in 2017 for the USA (and will be playing in Israel for the European Championships this summer). She coached for Tristate Lacrosse for seven years, has run clinics/camps in Orange County, NY, and Cedar Grove, NJ, and offers 1-on-1 lessons. When she's not playing lacrosse, Meghan works at a digital media agency in Manhattan called Carat as a media planner.

Emily Jaworski, 5th/6th Grade Girls Assistant Coach
Emily is originally from Granby, Connecticut where she started playing lacrosse in 5th grade for the local rec team. She continued to play throughout high school and then 4 years at Robert Morris University as a starting goalie. While in high school her team made two state championship appearances and in college her team made four national championship appearances. Since college, Emily has coached with multiple competitive lacrosse clubs but this is her first season with Hoboken Lacrosse . She currently works for an education nonprofit and is getting her master's in Organizational Leadership for Advocacy and Social Justice. She has lived in Hoboken for a year and a half.

Kristin Troianello, 5th/6th Grade Girls Assistant Coach

Kristin grew up in West Windsor, NJ where she started playing lacrosse in 5th grade with Lighting Lacrosse. Kristin played as a low attacker all the way through high school. While in high school she would assist her high school coach during the summer coaching camps. Kristin went on to play for a short time at Roanoke College in Virginia. Kristin has lived in Hoboken for three years. This is Kristin’s first year coaching with Hoboken Lacrosse. Kristin works as a Junior Financial Analyst for White & Case LLP in NYC.

Lucia Smircich, 7th/8th Grade Girls Assistant Coach

Lucia grew up in Morris County New Jersey, playing 4 years of varsity lacrosse at Villa Walsh Academy. She went on to play at Bucknell University as a four year starter, earning All Patriot League honors her freshman year and captaining her team junior and senior year. During college, Lucia spent her summers coaching for T3 lacrosse as a defensive assistant. She currently lives in Jersey City and works in finance in NYC.
